This is the main pregnancy ultrasound, during which a thorough general examination of your child will be conducted.
The exam has two parts :
The FIRST PART consists of a thorough examination of the fetus, during which several measurements will be taken, and all body parts (organs, limbs, spine, etc.) will be examined. The entire exam takes about 10 minutes. This is the medical part that you would have had if you went to a hospital. If an abnormality is detected, you’ll be immediately informed by the radiologist.
The SECOND PART is the fun part, where you’ll discover your unborn baby during the DVD recording. You’ll have a close-up encounter with your fetus, during which you'll have a series of general views and then a glimpse of certain parts of your child. You can see and hear its heart, face and see its limbs move! If you wish, we’ll also confirm its sex while you’re watching !
This DVD is in both 2D (conventional ultrasound) and 3D (or 4D). The 3D part will give you a general view and a more detailed view, such as a breathtaking view of your unborn child’s face, as if a camera were installed in the uterus !
The image quality will depend on the position of your fetus, the presence or absence of amniotic fluid in front of its face and the position of its hands.
This second part takes about 10 minutes and will vary depending on whether we are able to quickly obtain the best possible images.
The session will be recorded on DVD, where you can hear the doctor’s or technologist’s voice. So you can relive this magnificent experience in your living room with friends and relatives as often as you wish.
The DVD will be given to you a few minutes after the end of the session. We’ll also give you several photos of the fetus taken throughout the exam ! |
